Meet the Cohorts team

Martin Grixoni
Managing Partner
Founder of Cohorts LLP, Martin Grixoni has over 40 years’ experience in infrastructure, risk management and consultancy. Following almost 30 years in the Royal Marines, he concentrated on personal development and coaching, taking groups abroad on six-week leadership expeditions, before setting up Cohorts LLP in 2009. From Arctic Norway to the jungles of South-East Asia and the war zone of Bosnia, Martin has been to and worked in about a third of the countries of the world, and his sense is that there is always more to learn, do and achieve.

Richard Moss
Partner
Richard is a qualified risk management consultant who has worked with INGOs, international development agencies and media groups from Sierra Leone to Ukraine. With over 20 years’ experience in risk management, he now covers operational support and logistics, intelligence analysis and business development. Richard’s specialist military and corporate background has seen him specialise in high-risk environments, including in Africa, the Middle East and the Far East. He is also currently doing his MBA, focussing on business risk.

Toby Middleton
Partner
After graduating from Sheffield University, Toby spent 27 years as an officer in the British Royal Marines, operating across the globe and reaching the rank of Colonel. From there, he has worked in Business Development (BD) roles in the defence and maritime security industries, promoting designs for specialist amphibious vessels, leading a BD team within the electronic warfare, cyber and training spheres and exploring concept strategies for hurricane relief platforms. Recently, he has been supporting the UN in developing an organic fishery protection capability for Somalia.

Richard Watson
Partner
Richard Watson’s background is in renewable energy, having founded and directed several community energy groups promoting green energy generation and sustainable energy use: namely, Energise Sussex Coast, Community Energy South and Energise South. He is also the co-founder of the Schools Energy Co-op, which has installed free solar panels on ninety UK schools and on Salisbury Cathedral. Awarded an OBE in 2016 for services to the community of Sussex, Richard has also worked as an environmental journalist and renewable-energy consultant for several organisations.
